The Bureau of Cannabis Regulation at the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services oversees cannabis products (Medical Cannabis and Consumable Hemp) for human consumption in Iowa. Our goal is to maintain high-quality, effective, and compliant programs for qualified patients and consumers. For Medical Cannabis, we review and process patient and caregiver applications for enrollment, and regulate Manufacturing and Dispensary Licensees. For Consumable Hemp, we review and process Registrations for Consumable Hemp Manufacturing and Retail Establishments, and review and audit their products for sale.
