The Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS), pursuant to the requirements outlined in 42 C.F.R. §447.205 and §1902(a)(13)(A) of the Social Security Act, hereby gives notice of the following proposed action regarding its methods and standards for inpatient hospital reimbursement rates under the State Plan under Title XIX of the Social Security Act Medical Assistance Program (Medicaid).
Senate File (SF) 2418 requires DHS to rebase the reimbursement rates for inpatient hospital services, subject to Medicaid program upper payment limit rules, effective October 1, 2018. DHS can adjust as necessary to maintain expenditures within the amount appropriated to DHS in SF 2418 for this purpose. The diagnosis related group (DRG) weights will also be recalibrated.
