Public Notice: Proposed Remedies Used to Enforce Compliance for Long-Term Care Facilities with Deficiencies

The Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS), pursuant to the requirements outlined in 42 C.F.R §447.205 and §1902(a)(13)(A) of the Social Security Act, hereby gives notice of  the establishment of two additional remedies to ensure prompt compliance with nursing facility requirements. The additional remedies include directed plan of correction and directed in-service training. This change will allow for the State Surveying Agency to use and implement any and all available remedies when a nursing facility is found to be non-compliant.
