During the 2023 Legislative Session, HHS engaged with the Iowa legislature to pass legislation to specialize services at Iowaβs state operated Mental Health Institutes (MHIs). HF 471 was ultimately signed by the Governor. The attached letter from our Facilities Division Administrator lays out town hall opportunities for stakeholders to come and ask questions in real time before the change is effective.
