Since becoming a consolidated Health and Human Services agency in 2022, Iowa HHS has been assessing the delivery of health and human services in our state. The statewide Behavioral Health and Disability Services systems that launched on July 1, 2025, are results of this extensive work. In 2026, our goals remain clear:

  • Ensure consistent access to health and human services for all Iowans while maximizing the impact of federal, state, and local resources
  • Improve communication
  • Enhance partner collaboration
Updates will be posted on this webpage as we work to build a streamlined, accountable Public Health Service System that provides consistent, effective services across Iowa.
