Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is a federal requirement for states to roll out in January 2024.
Section 12006(a) of the 21st Century Cures Act requires that states implement EVV for all Medicaid personal care services (PCS) and home health services (HHCS) that require an in-home visit by a provider.
Assisted Living Facilities or Residential Care Facilities may opt out of EVV for personal care services. The opt out option is available only if the EVV provider attestation is completed timely as per directions on the attestation form. Denials will be issued if the attestation forms are not completed and received as directed.
