Farmers Markets for Vendors

Low-income Iowans have increased access to locally grown farm fresh food at selected farmers' markets due to the efforts of the Iowa Health and Human Services (HHS) Wireless EBT Project. This project provides Wi-Fi-enabled point-of-sale machines to qualified direct marketing farmers across the state. HHS pays for one point-of-sale (POS) device per qualified farmer.  There are no charges for EBT transactions. The machine allows Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express transactions (processing fees apply). Please send an email to farmers@hhs.iowa.gov. If you do not have an email address, please contact Belinda at (515) 491-6325. Paperwork can be mailed to you.
