Iowa HHS is committed to partnering with Iowans who use HCBS, family caregivers, advocates and providers throughout the HOME project. On this page, you can learn about how HHS is keeping stakeholders updated about HOME activities, and how the voices of Iowans inform HOME decision-making.

HOME Steering Committee

The HOME project has a Steering Committee that provides crucial input on project decisions. The Steering Committee meets monthly and includes representatives from the following groups:

  • Iowans who use Medicaid HCBS
  • Family caregivers
  • Case managers
  • Service Providers
  • Advocates

See below for slides and meeting summaries from recent steering committee meetings.

Waiver Redesign Listening Sessions

In May 2024, Iowa HHS hosted three listening sessions with members and providers to gather direct feedback on the proposed changes to home and community-based services waivers. You can find the listening session presentation here.

HHS has shared HOME updates in several Medicaid town hall meetings. You can find the presentations and recordings for those town hall updates here:

HOMEtown Conversations

In Fall 2023, HHS held HOMEtown Conversations, a series of 12 in-person and three virtual feedback sessions where Iowans got the latest updates on the HOME project from the Medicaid director and shared their thoughts on how HHS could make community-based services in Iowa better. You can find presentation materials, recordings, and feedback summaries from HOMEtown Conversations below.
