About Iowa Health Link
Most Iowa Medicaid members are enrolled in the Iowa Health Link managed care program, which provides health coverage through a Managed Care Organization (MCO) of your choice.
Iowa Health Link integrates physical, behavioral, and long-term care services into a single program. Some Medicaid members, however, receive coverage through a Fee-for-Service model instead of managed care.

Back to topHow it Works
You have 90 days from your enrollment date to switch plans for any reason. If you don’t choose a different plan, you’ll stay with the one you were assigned.
Some members have additional options:
- Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) | If you’re enrolled in PACE, contact your PACE provider before making any changes. They will help you switch to the Iowa Health Link program if you choose.
- American Indian or Alaskan Native | American Indian or Alaska Native members can choose to enroll in managed care. Call Iowa Medicaid Member Services at 1-800-338-8366 for more information.
Changing Your Health and/or Dental Plan
Members can change their health plan and/or dental carrier once every 12 months during their Annual Choice Period. If a member wants to change their plan when the Annual Choice period is closed, they must have a reason of Good Cause.
