2021-2026 State Plan for Brain Injury
Iowa HHS is currently recruiting Iowans with lived experience (i.e. have a history of brain injury), family members or other caregivers, professionals in the field and others with a connection to brain injury to serve on the Iowa Brain Injury Advisory Committee. If you are interested in serving as a committee member, please complete the following form. Applications will be assessed for their alignment with open positions and needed perspectives on the committee for recommendation for appointment by the Iowa HHS Council.
Member terms are for the calendar year. Appointment for an additional year are subject to Iowa HHS Council approval for continuation and the interest of the individual.
Meetings are typically held quarterly via Zoom for up to four hours, with an annual opportunity to meet in person. While it is recognized that absences may occur, members are expected to attend meetings and an inability to regularly attend meetings may result in a recommendation for dismissal from the committee.
Questions and requests for assistance with the application can be sent to the Iowa HHS Brain Injury Program by emailing brain.injury@hhs.iowa.gov.
Applications will be accepted through November 10, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. for the 2026 committee. Applicants will be notified by December 1, 2025, regarding whether or not they have been selected to serve on this committee.
