Competency-Based Training and Technical Assistance are available at no cost for Iowa LTSS providers and case managers. Training is offered live or on-demand and focuses on core skills for provider agencies and those who work directly with members.

HHS Provider Enrollment Overview (April 2025) (4.7 MB) .pptx

This module provides an overview of brain injuries, including their definition and the behavioral, physical, and cognitive symptoms that may occur. It explores how brain injuries affect different populations such as youth, older adults, and individuals living in rural communities. 

The module also reviews available treatments, including occupational, physical, and speech therapy, and outlines best practices for supporting individuals with traumatic brain injuries. Key topics include family roles, supported decision-making, supported employment, and strategies for promoting independence after injury.

The BI training is available on the HHS Learning Management System.

These sessions are for those interested in becoming Independent Support Brokers (ISBs) through Iowa Medicaid’s Consumer Choices Option (CCO) program. Participants must have internet and email access, complete all training requirements, and pass a background check. Click the link above for more information.

Iowa Medicaid has created a host of tools that help providers obtain information regarding a variety of areas such as enrollment, eligibility, and general Medicaid news for providers.

Iowa Medicaid Portal Access (IMPA)

Iowa Medicaid implemented a provider portal called Iowa Medicaid Portal Access (IMPA) that is managed by the Provider Services unit. IMPA is a web-based tool that allows providers access to multiple different functions that may be needed. Through this tool providers are able to access:

• Remittance Advice Provider Access Request Form
• Critical Incident Reporting Access Request Form
• Document Upload Form
• Dentists Accepting Clients
• Informational Letter Sign Up

• Client Participation Access Form

  Provider Tiered Rates Access Request for the Iowa Medicaid Portal Access (IMPA) System

• A new rate for PIC Services will be in effect starting January 1, 2023. Providers can find useful information about these services and rates in the following resources:

All CNRS providers must complete and submit the Provider Quality Self-Assessment by the specified annual deadline, regardless of whether they are currently offering CNRS services. The form and all necessary documents should be sent together as one document annually.
