Provider Trainings and Tools
Competency-Based Training and Technical Assistance are available at no cost for Iowa LTSS providers and case managers. Training is offered live or on-demand and focuses on core skills for provider agencies and those who work directly with members.
This training is designed for Iowa service providers who support individuals with brain injuries. Participants may include professionals from LMEs, vocational rehab, independent living, education, case management, mental health, social services, advocacy groups, and family members. Below are PDFs of each training page for the Brain Injury (BI) Waiver.
These sessions are for those interested in becoming Independent Support Brokers (ISBs) through Iowa Medicaid’s Consumer Choices Option (CCO) program. Participants must have internet and email access, complete all training requirements, and pass a background check. Click the link above for more information.
Iowa Medicaid has created a host of tools that help providers obtain information regarding a variety of areas such as enrollment, eligibility, and general Medicaid news for providers.
Iowa Medicaid Portal Access (IMPA)
Iowa Medicaid implemented a provider portal called Iowa Medicaid Portal Access (IMPA) that is managed by the Provider Services unit. IMPA is a web-based tool that allows providers access to multiple different functions that may be needed. Through this tool providers are able to access:
- A new rate for PIC Services will be in effect starting January 1, 2023. Providers can find useful information about these services and rates in the following resources:

2024 CNRS and HCBS Self-Assessments
All CNRS providers must complete and submit the Provider Quality Self-Assessment by the specified annual deadline, regardless of whether they are currently offering CNRS services. The form and all necessary documents should be sent together as one document annually.
