Crisis Assessment
In 2023, The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services issued a Request for Proposal for technical assistance and recommendations for Iowa’s crisis continuum of care. Health Management Associates (HMA) was awarded the contract to assess Iowa’s current crisis services and provide a roadmap and recommendations for shifting Iowa’s mental health crisis system to a statewide, coordinated behavioral health crisis system. The 988 Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States.
