A significant proportion of Iowans get their drinking water from Public Water Systems. These include both Municipal and Rural water systems. A public water supply is defined as a system that provides water for human consumption that has at least 15 service connections or serves at least 25 people at least 60 days during the year.
Measure Description:
- Population Served by Public Water Systems is the number of people receiving water from community water systems as reported in the Safe Drinking Water Information System.
