DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announces the unveiling of the combined health and human services website today. The new website can be found at https://hhs.iowa.gov. This is the latest step in Iowa’s HHS alignment initiative.
This new website is the first phase of a two phased effort.
“Since the spring of 2022, our team has worked to bring together information from the legacy IDPH and DHS websites into one website.” said Matt Highland, Chief of Strategic Operations for HHS. “The site will have a familiar look and feel for Iowans who are accustomed to visiting the previous sites. The new site is built using the same organization and architecture to ensure people can find information in the way they are used to finding it.”
However, today’s announcement is the first step. There is significant work ahead. HHS is in the process of creating a human-centered website, making our website more user friendly and easier to navigate. This approach starts with designing for the end user and will include added functionality and enhanced accessibility.
“This human-centered design process includes hearing directly from stakeholders and assistance seekers, to ensure our website meets their needs. The goal is to have a website that is easy to use, is inclusive and accessible to all Iowans who rely on HHS,” said Highland.
This next phase of work has already begun. We hope to launch the fully redesigned agency website in the coming year.
