Learn about Iowa HHS' Medical Assistance Text Messaging Program
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (Iowa HHS) is offering text messages for people enrolled in Medical Assistance.
These messages will include important health insurance eligibility information, such as reminders about deadlines or requests for information needed to renew your Medical Assistance.
The text messaging program is voluntary. Choosing not to participate will not impact your eligibility. You may have the opportunity to update your contact information via the text messaging program.
We will send an initial opt-out text message to people who provided a valid cell phone number on their application for health care coverage. You may reply STOP to the initial message to opt out of receiving any more messages about your Medical Assistance.
