Notice is hereby given, in accordance with 42 CFR Β§447.57, that the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will be submitting to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) State Plan Amendment (SPA) IA 23-0010 to address premiums and cost-sharing upon the end of the national COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE).

Summary

Pending federal approval, HHS will continue to suspend all copayments and premiums for all Hawki and Medicaid enrollees until June 1, 2024.

Fiscal Impact

The estimated financial impact to Medicaid for SFY24 related to suspension of all copayments and premiums for Medicaid enrollees through June 1, 2024, is:

Total Dollars:                                                          $ 269,988

Federal Dollars:                                                       $ 216,459

State Dollars:                                                          $ 53,529
